Subject: Very Sad to report, Wilse, WX7P SK

I am very sad to report the passing of one of the biggest champions for
Amateur Radio I have ever met, Wilse Morgan WX7P.

Wilse was an avid contester, DXer, involved with public safety
communications, a mentor , Volunteer examiner, club president,
Assistant SM, and much much more. As well as one of my best friends in
amateur radio.

Many will remember him from knowing him, some will remember that small
packet of information he so diligently sent out to each new amateur
operator in the section, and when I would slip, and forget to send him
the information on time, my phone would ring pronto to "gently remind
me" I needed to get that in the mail.

Wilse and Gimmie opened their home to me the last seven years to
operate with Wilse and many others during November sweepstakes and
those events are some of best times I've have had on the air.

The below post is from the SDXA mail list. (Thanks Cynthia)

73 Wilse, you will be greatly missed.

Respectfully,
Mark

It is with deep sadness that I am writing this today. Our beloved
Wilse WX7P became a SK early this morning. I just spoke with Gimmie
and she wanted you all to know.

Gimmie did imply that she wasn't up to a lot of phone calls but that
there will be a memorial in the near future at the local fire station.

Jim WW7DD at (509)935-4676 is available for more information. Gimmie
has her daughter with her now and is taking care of all the things
needed, so please give her some time before calling her.

With a heavy heart,
Cynthia Frees WW7CA
