Subject: [KL7AA] 10-10 Contest this weekend!!

QST QST QST

The Summer 10-10 SSB Contest will be held this weekend, starting Friday at
7pm (0000Z Saturday) and ending Sunday at 7pm. The purpose of this contest
is to promote activity on ten meters, so all are welcome to participate with
or without a 10-10 number. The exchange is Name, State and 10-10 number (if
any). Stations with 10-10 numbers are worth 2 points while those without are
worth 1 point.

Even if you haven't participated in a while, please turn out and please
remind everyone you know about it as well. Even if you think the 10-10
contest isn't a "real" contest, it is for many of us. It is admitedly a bit
low key compared to some contests, but there are some fierce competitors out
there.

Contest rules can be found at
http://www.ten-ten.org/Forms/QSO%20Party%20Rules.pdf .

Contest software is available from N1MM (UDC), K4HAV, N3FJP, and a few
others. I used K4HAV's Win-1010 for many years but recently switched to N1MM
for this contest and find it works great, even triggering the DVK in my K3
via CAT.

Please show your support for 10 meters this weekend. Most activity will be
between about 28.380 and 28.450. I know condtions haven't been all that
great this whole cycle, but you can never tell what's going to happen on 10
meters, especially in the summer.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly before
the contest.

73 and CU in the Contest!!

Allen N5XZ #4530
