QRP Amateur Radio Club International (ARCI) is holding its 50th
Anniversary Party all year and next week is the week that is activated
for Alaska. By having Alaskan operators (ARCI membership not required)
make as many QRP contacts as possible using K6JSS/KL7 from Alaska next
week, it will help people everywhere Work All States (WAS) during the
calendar year 2011 with each contact being with K6JSS!

Check the information on http://www.qrz.com/db/K6JSS for QSL
information and for a more detailed overview of this activity.

Here is all you need to do:

1. Tell me, Jim, AL7FS, AL7FS at ARRL.org (Point of Contact) that you plan
to help. You may operate as little or as much as you wish. Please use 5
watts or less during this event. One fun aspect of this one week Alaska
event is that as many Alaska operators as wish can operate at the same
time as long as they are not interfering with each other.

2. Beginning at 0000Z October 17 (Sunday afternoon October 16, local
time), call CQ de K6JSS/KL7 on as many bands and modes as you can, or
care to. You can even check into nets, etc. using this callsign.
Operate as much or as little as you want during our Alaska Week.

3. When you are active, please post on http://www.qrpspots.com that you
are "on the air" and what frequency and mode - CW, SSB, AM, PSK-31, and
other digital are all welcome.

4. Exchange signal reports and if asked, send club membership QRP ARCI
#1 for K6JSS.

5. After the week is over (2359Z the following Sunday) send a copy of
your K6JSS logs to AL7FS at ARRL.org and also to NU0V at arrl.net. This is
very important for QSL and certificate purposes.

That's all there is to it. Let's make Alaska an easy state to work.

73, Jim
