Controlled Release – Within the Amateur Radio Community
To better equip the Amateur Radio community to serve the people in the
state of Alaska, Members of the Amateur Radio Emergency Services or A.R.E.S.
will be conducting an exercise this Saturday March 20th 2010 from Ten am to
12 noon Alaska Time. The mission of this exercise is to evaluate methods of
communications from each of the south central regions such as, Cordova and
Kodiak sending traffic to the MATSU for relay to the State Emergency
Coordination Center. As well as to familiarize our members with the nationally
accepted I.C.S. forms, format, and associated paperwork.
Methods deployed will be High Frequency Voice, and HF digital, for distant
communication, and UHF and VHF Phone and Digital for more local traffic.
The process will be a DIRECTED NET, and as such it will be monitored and
directed by a net control operator, in this case KL7JFT.
Frequencies in play will be:
HF:
3933 Command and Control
3915 for traffic
Win link will also be used on HF and VHF for form traffic
147.270 Anchorage, 147.330 Valley and 147.300 for local voice traffic,
The Eagle Packet Node will be used as well to pass traffic.
Your cooperation during this exercise is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Pete Summers
