I want to thank each of your for your support in the recent Section
Manager Election.

 From the ARRL website today:

Incumbent Section Managers Win New Term of Office (Nov 24, 2009) --
Three incumbent Section Managers were re-elected in races that concluded
on Tuesday, November 24. ...In the Alaska Section Manager election, Jim
Larsen, AL7FS, of Anchorage, won his second two-year term of office...

Here in Alaska we have done a lot with Amateur Radio Emergency Services
over the past year and we are now considered an asset by the State of
Alaska Emergency Planners as well as by many local governments. ARES
participated in a one day Alaska Shield Table Top Exercise in October
and we were warmly received by the participants and the Exercise
Leaders. Don Bush-KL7JFT, Ray Hollenbeck-KL1IL, Mark Allan-KL2EC,
Heather Hasper-KL7SP and Mike Dolph-KL7JBV all wore the ARES logo in the
exercise and helped the government participants with communications.

For the future, Ken Perry, AL7GA, has agree to become an Assistant
Section Manager for newcomers and will soon begin a program to greet new
hams to Alaska and their ham communities.

Pete Summers, KL2GY, has agree to be our statewide Public Relations
Coordinator (PIO) and we can expect that soon he will be swinging into
action with news from around the state. He will need your input and I
encourage you to send him articles and notes of interest to Alaska hams.
Watch for his work on the ARRL website in the near future.

I have great hopes for Alaska hams and the American Radio Relay League
over the next two years and I we can pick up the pace in the coming
months and years.

73, Jim
