Good morning Kathleen, Jim and Heather.
The Bethel Amateur Radio Klub is experimenting on 6
meters. This morning we set up a beacon on 50.07 MHz
and are asking other operators around the state for
reception reports. Our club President, WL7BCT, is
setting up a station in the village Quinhagak to test
reception. The beacon will remain on the air until 5PM
Wednesday evening. I was hoping maybe you folks could
spread the word around to Anchorage based 6 meter
enthusiasts? They can email reception reports to
al1f at arrl.net.
On another subject.... the KYUK Radio news
department is doing a story on our club and our
upcoming license class. I'll put in a plug for the
Alaska Hamfest and refer them to the website. There's
a potential that the story might get picked up by APRN
and be broadcast over all 26 public radio stations!
I'll keep you guys informed if that happens.
Thanks.
Joe- AL1F
