 From Mike O'Keefe, KL7MD
ARES District Emergency Coordinator

ARES will be conducting tower raising training on Saturday the 18th of
August at 9:30 AM. The training will be held at the CCV storage facility
on Rohn street. The training will probably take the better part of the
day. We will be erecting a 40 foot tower and ant's.

The easiest way to get to the CCV storage facility is to get onto Dowling
road from the New Seward Highway and head east towards the mountains. As
soon as you get through the last round about you will see Gary's Truck
Sales on the North side of the road. There is a road divider at the
intersection of Rohn and Dowling that will keep you from turning left at
the intersection. Go east to the next driveway and circle around so you
are going West on Dowling. Then take the first road to your right. The
CCV storage facility is on the East side of Rohn street. The building is a
two story green building with garage doors on both the North and South ends
of the building. We are located in the North end.

As the saying goes, "Many hands makes light work for those involved". So
please stop by and lend a hand. If we get enough people involved we can
also assemble the A3S triband beam antenna, assemble the HAM IV rotor,
mount the two VHF/UHF antenna's, string the coax runs, and build up the Ham
Shack using the Mark V HF radio with linear amplifier along with the Alinco
605 VHF/UHF and Kenwood 261 VHF and TNC for the packet station.

So stop on by and give us a hand in building up the KL7AA club station so
that everyone can enjoy the airwaves.
