with.  I can provide some loaner equipment if it will help get someone to

Primary Frequency will be 147.27 repeater, plus shift, 103.5 tone
Backup Frequency will be 146.97 repeater, minus shift, 103.5 tone

This will NOT be a closed net, the repeater will remain open for general
traffic.  All Walk for Hope traffic should still go through Net Control.
Net Control may take over the repeater and run a closed net if the situation
requires it.  

Note that there is only one trail this year with turn-arounds at various
checkpoints to provide the different route lengths.  Walk, roll, jog and run
are all on the same trail.  The start will be between 8:00 and 9:00 AM.
There will be competitive and recreation participants so expect continuous
operation.  

We have made orange felt armbands with ARES stenciled on them.  They will be
available at the Start Finish line on Saturday morning and on the Shuttle
bus during the day.  They can be safety pinned to you coat or shirt sleeve.
Please use them on Saturday so that you can be easily identified as a
communicator.  Please feel free to keep these after Saturday for your
equipment kit.  

Tactical Calls listed below will be used for all operations.  Callsigns
maybe be used at the end of an exchange but are not required except for once
every 10 minutes per FCC rules.  Note that the checkpoint numbers have been
deleted from the list.  There are two maps out, one with the Start/Finish as
#1 and Kincaid as #5, the other with Westchester as #1 and Kincaid as #4.
The numbering has been removed from the Tactical Calls all to avoid
confusion.  

Be prepared for both rain and shine and to stay for the whole day.  You may
want to bring a folding chair and umbrella.  You should also have your own
water and snacks, although some food may be provided.  Not only are you
providing a public service, but also developing your skills and equipment in
case you have to respond to a real emergency.  

Sam O'Connor of Westside Community Patrol has a 4-wheeler that will be
operating on the trail.  They have permission from the city to operate on
the bike trail for this event.  He will have a cell phone and can do pickups
and deliveries for medical situations etc.  Contact Net Control to request
the 4-wheeler.  

A contact telephone list from HOPE will be distributed to all HAMs.  Use it
if you need to.  Don't give out numbers to others, get a number to call have
net control request the call back.  

Lost child procedure: contact net control with a good (written down)
description and contact information.  Encourage the lost parent to go to and
stay at the Start / Finish.
