List members,

I want to let you know that some of your fellow KL7AA mail list members are
electing to unsubscribe because they don't believe the list provides added
value in light of the recent exchange.

This forum was originally intended to discuss the business of the Anchorage
Amateur Radio Club, and amateur radio in general.

Referring to The Amateur's Code, it says in part that the Radio Amateur is:

"Considerate...never knowingly operates in such a way as to lessen the
pleasure of others."

Further down it goes on to say:

"Friendly...slow and patient operating when requested; friendly advice and
counsel to the beginner; (and get this part.) cooperation and consideration
for the interests of others. These are the hallmarks of the amateur
spirit."

While the Code was written back in 1928 with radio operations in mind, these
ideas can easily be transferred to the technologies we have today, and which
are used to augment and enhance our hobby. I think few could argue that
some of what was said "lessened the pleasure of others" or demonstrated
"...consideration for the interests of others..." whether it was intentional
or unintentional.

Bottom line is we need each other to continue in this hobby because it takes
two for effective (or any, for that matter) communication to take place. Be
considerate of others or you'll end up talking to yourself...or at least
talking to others in a forum other than on this mail list.
