Mr. Heater was born Feb. 17, 1936, in North Powder, Ore. He was a

His family wrote: "Dale was known by many and loved by all he met. He was a
great man, always there to help when needed. He was an avid fisherman 'always
after the big one.' He loved his CB and ham radios, and his call letters were
NL7J."

His family added that he will go with God while being with his granddaughter
Trace, and that he was much loved.

"We will meet (him) in heaven when we can."

Mr. Heater is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Heater of Chugiak; son, Paul
