Hello Jim

Please forward the following meeting announcement to anyone who may be
interested. Thanks!

Alaska Computer Society PC Users Group
Thursday, May 12, 2005 7:00 P.M.
Carr Gottstein Building on the APU Campus

We have two presenters for the next meeting.

SKYPE: a free-ware Internet telephony application
Watch a demonstration of SKYPE, software that allows you to telephone other
people on their computers or phones. The call is free if the person you are
calling also has SKYPE. It works on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and PDAs using
Pocket PC. The calls have excellent sound quality and are highly secure with
end-to-end encryption. Presented by Damien Hull.

KNOPPIX: a bootable, self contained, fully functional CD-ROM based version
of Linux
KNOPPIX can be used as a Linux demo, educational CD, rescue system, or
adapted and used as a platform for commercial software product demos.
Presented by Fielder Dowding, local Linux enthusiast
Free copies of KNOPPIX will be available
