This is going out to those who might be interested in purchasing a
tricked out Suburban ready to go as an emergency response, dispatch,
radio central type rig….No….not mine.
Some of you may know Don Lederhos, the owner of Raven Electric. Some
may recall he is an avid supporter of amateur radio, emergency response
radio, has repeaters, etc. Some may recall he is generous with his
stuff---he loaned APDST 40+FRS radios for the Brown Brothers search a
year or so ago, gives radios to volunteer emergency response groups,
etc. And, some of you may recall he has a very tricked out Suburban
with transceiver radio gear on just about every band from HF to 2.4 gig
He just bought a brand new Suburban and is going to equip it with all
new radio gear…nothing is coming over from the old vehicle. Then he is
going to dispose of his current Suburban…which means he either must
systematically remove every piece of gear he has in the vehicle or…and
this is his preference…sell the Suburban fully equipped…as is.
I saw him today in connection with a personal issue and he asked me to
let certain people know, those who are hams, preferably, because the
vehicle has a lot of ham gear, and those who are emergency response
oriented and would appreciate his set up.
I did not discuss price, but he indicated that he would make the
acquisition very attractive. This would be a very major capital
expenditure for someone, but, if someone were interested in building up
a similar rig, this would be a far cheaper and quicker way to go.
Perhaps this should be mentioned on Swap and Shop tomorrow night.
He can be contacted at Raven Electric or Arcticom.
