[KL7AA] List Suscription Procedure Change

Good morning from the Deep South...

Yesterday over 100 of the QTH.net users lists were subscribed to by an
individual from China, who was obviously a non-ham. He appeared to be a
spammer.

I've kept this list wide open for subscriptions, allowing whoever wanted to
subscribe to do so because it was the general consensus of the club at the
time.

It will continue to be open but with a minor change: before a person can
subscribe, an e-mail will now be generated to me, the list administrator,
informing me that someone wants to subscribe. I'll check them out by
looking them up on QRZ, sending an e-mail back to them ask who they are or
something similar. If I don't receive a reply, those folks will not be
allowed to subscribe.

A little more work on my part, but other than that it shouldn't pose a
problem for anyone wanting to subscribe. Hams/non-hams alike will still be
allowed to subscribe regardless of their club status, as the consensus was
anyone could subscribe to become more informed about the club, and amateur
radio in general.

I hope all of you up there are had a good Thanksgiving. I know I did, but
now I have to pay the price. I'll be hitting the running track next week.
