35th Annual Anchorage Walk for Hope, Saturday May 1, 2004
This is our working document for the communications support for the 2004
Walk for Hope. This is version 3 with some more volunteers plugged in.
Please verify your assignments and advise if any other changes are needed.
Anyone who would like to help with the comms please email me at:
[email protected] or call 337-1091 with any preference for assignment. We
would like to involve as many first time volunteers as possible and try to
place them with veterans. These are long shifts and you may wish to have a
second operator. You may also split a shift if you find someone to relieve
you. We need to have all of the check stations covered at all times, so
plan to stay if your relief is late or no show. Contact net control if
you have an emergency and we will find a substitute to fill in.

Notes
The West Side Community Patrol may also provide sweeps for the event. They
will be communicating on an 800MHz trunked radio system. A trunked radio
is in the CCV to facilitate coordination.
REACT may also be staffing some of the checkpoints and using a GMRS
repeater at Arctic Valley, if it is working. The repeater is narrow band
FM on 462.675 (467.675 up) with a 141.3 Hz PL. There is a GMRS radio in the
CCV that we will use to coordinate with them.
