  The UHF HTs are great UO-14 downlink receivers and
are much better for working the UHF side of a
cross-band repeater than the Alinco pocket mouse.  I
bought them to use as control receivers or linking
transceivers for 2-meter repeaters.  One is an ADI
AT-400 w/AA pack for $80 and two are Yaesu FT-40R
w/9.6v NiCad batteries for $100 each.  The Yaesu's
battery fits the FT-50R, FT-10R, and aircraft HTs of
the same vintage and are worth $60 alone. 

  The HF mobile is a Kenwood TS-50 with CAP mod and it
will put out 200 watts of SSB all day without getting
hot.  This radio, will way out perform any IC-706 or
FT-100 on all HF frequencies, both on transmit and
receive.  The power will have to be cut back to 110
watts or so if using the included AT-50 auto antenna
tuner or using it on high power when transmitting FM,
RTTY, or any digital mode.
