[Kenwood] Kenwood mike adaptor?

Kenwood used to offer a microphone adapter for just that purpose. It was
the MJ84. You would plug your 8 pin mic into the adapter and then plug
the adapter into your 4 pin radio. I haven't seen one in years, but if
Kenwood doesn't make them anymore, I'm sure someone does. I just
googled "8 pin microphone to 4 pin radio" and came up with a few
adapters and adapter cables.

Is there a way to adapt a mike like the MC42/43 to work in the older
KW 4 pin mike riggs? Seems like they are 8 pins, and I am guessing you
dont hook up the wires to the up/down buttons.
