[Kenwood] TS-440SAT display problems

You can get battery sockets for the CR2032 and solder one to the board. Then just put in any CR2032. If you still want to do a battery with solder tabs, Amazon has them and since they ship by cargo only aircraft it would not be an issue for getting them in Hawaii.
If you are dealing with people that do not ship batteries to Hawaii, you need to find another source. The shipment just has to be labeled properly. Regardless, shipping by UPS or FedEx air should not be an issue.

I have two TS-440s. Both of them worked fine before I put them on the
shelf and didn't use them for years. Now both of them have a weird
display problem (not the dots that occur when there is a VCO problem)
wherein the display is really weird. My best description is that it
appears there is a sync problem with the display and the data being sent
to it. The problem clears if I turn the radio on while holding the A=B
key.

Have you seen this problem? How did you repair it? Will replacing the
CR2032 memory battery help?

How do you get an electronics parts supplier to ship a CR2032 battery
with solder tabs to Hawaii?

Thanks, Ken N6KB
