[Kenwood] TS-440SAT display problems

I have two TS-440s. Both of them worked fine before I put them on the 
shelf and didn't use them for years. Now both of them have a weird 
display problem (not the dots that occur when there is a VCO problem) 
wherein the display is really weird. My best description is that it 
appears there is a sync problem with the display and the data being sent 
to it. The problem clears if I turn the radio on while holding the A=B 
key.

Have you seen this problem? How did you repair it? Will replacing the 
CR2032 memory battery help?

How do you get an electronics parts supplier to ship a CR2032 battery 
with solder tabs to Hawaii?
