Hopefully we can keep a couple units working and looking nice using these parts. The outer case (both top cover, and both parts of the bottom cover) are presently available. They look very nice, and might improve the looks of your rig. The front plastic panel is available, along with the internal front circuit boards that include the S meter, digital display, and all push button switches. A complete set of knobs are available; they look very nice. Other internal PC boards are available as well. The automatic antenna tuner is NOT available. Please let me know what you need, and we can go from there. . I also have many other accessories available such as many different types of microphones, HTs, VHF and UHF rigs, HF and VHF/UHF antennas, connectors, miscellaneous accessories, etc. Just too many to list here. Please e-mail your requests. . Thanks. 73, Ken, W8EK Ken Simpson E-mail to W8EK at FLHam.net or W8EK at arrl.net Voice Phone (352) 732-8400 . . Message-ID: I have been using RT Systems cable and software to program channels in my TM-281. I like the ability to type in frequencies using a keyboard, or even cut and past from published repeater frequency lists online. It is much easier than doing it from the front panel controls on the radio. I suppose I could use the free software Kenwood has available. I chose RT systems because their USB to radio adaptor cable was easier to get than getting one from Kenwood. I would like to have a similar capability to program my TM-732. I see no software package available from Kenwood or RT Systems for the TM-732. Since there are ways to "clone" TM-732 radios there is definitely an ability to program the radio through the microphone jack, if only I had the right interface and software. Does anyone know whether such things exist? Kenwood MC-43 Microphones The Kenwood MC-43 is a hand microphone that features Up and Down buttons, in addition to PTT. It has a coiled cable and is a 600 Ohm microphone. It is the standard mic that comes with many of Kenwood's HF rigs, as well as their VHF/UHF rigs that do not use a touch tone pad. It has a round 8 pin connector. It works fine and looks great. The coiled cord is NOT stretched and out of shape, as many of these are. Buy it for $35. . Kenwood YK-88 C, 500 Hz CW Filter: This is the standard 500 Hz CW filter used in rigs such as the TS-430, TS-440, and others. It is the solder in type. This one works fine. It looks fine also, as if that matters for a filter inside the rig. With paper work for $79. . Kenwood "Extension Feet": This is a set of two feet that are often used on various Kenwood rigs to raise the front by about 1/2 inch to give a rig, speaker, remote VFO, etc. the tilt that makes it easier to read. This is a complete set of two front feet, with the needed hardware. $15 for the set. . Kenwood Heavy Duty Weighted Tuning Knob K-21: This knob is a special tuning knob, about 2 1/4 inches in diameter, so just right for most Kenwood rigs. It is weighted, so one can give it a spin, and it continues to go. This one looks perfect, and is still in its plastic bag. Only $80. . Crystals: I have a set of three crystals that are used to return the Kenwood Hybrid rigs to 10 meters, after they have had the original crystals changed to 11 meters. Specifically, they are HC-25 crystals for 33.50, 34.00, and 34.50 MHz. They are labeled as being for the TS-820, but I think all of the hybrids use the same frequencies. These crystals are $35 for the set of three. . Linear Amp Switching Cables for Kenwood Rigs: This cable goes from a Kenwood transceiver to a linear amplifier to switch the amp from transmit to receive. One end has a DIN connector, as is used with most Kenwood rigs. The other end has an RCA phono plug, as used by most linear amplifiers. Before using this cable, please check the switching capabilities of your transceiver, and the requirements of your amplifier. Cable for switching the T/R relay Only $15. Cable as above, but with ALC line in addition to T/R switching. $20 . I also have many other accessories available such as many different types of microphones, HTs, VHF and UHF rigs, HF and VHF/UHF antennas, connectors, miscellaneous accessories, etc. Just too many to list here. Please e-mail your requests. . Prices do not include shipping from Florida. Thanks. 73, Ken, W8EK Ken Simpson E-mail to W8EK at FLHam.net or W8EK at arrl.net Voice Phone (352) 732-8400 . .
