There is definitely a leak from C523. I can see the electrolyte has leaked and is visible on the board. Next I will source the cap and attempt replacement, Thanks again Clif for pointing me in the correct direction for this repair. It looks like it is transmitting but there seems to be no power output from the antenna. Any suggestions on what to check, or possible repair (I have an electronics background)? I suspect the final RF stage is bad because when I transmit and if I have another radio nearly on the same frequency it does pick up my signal. Just no power out the RF antenna, cannot hit a repeater, etc. Thx, Alex From k4wgd47 at gmail.com Sun Oct 20 20:36:06 2019 From: k4wgd47 at gmail.com (wg davis) Date: Sun, 20 Oct 2019 20:36:06 -0400 Subject: [Kenwood] For Sale Message-ID: If I wanted to sell a Kenwood TS-440s/AT that is in excellent condition, cosmetically and electronically, what would be a fair price?? -- 73, K4WGD From stephoto at mind.net Sun Oct 20 20:37:29 2019 From: stephoto at mind.net (Steve Sutfin) Date: Sun, 20 Oct 2019 17:37:29 -0700 Subject: [Kenwood] Transistor needed Message-ID: Hello to the list, Does anyone have a good quality 2SC2240 laying around? Because of this difference the signal will not pass through the 455khz Murata filter. I have tried the trimmer and it is only good for about 700hz. I also swapped crystals, trimmer, and padder with no change. L16 and it is properly adjusted. I have not yet checked Q3 or Q4. Does anyone have an idea what component(s) in the oscillator circuit could be causing this variation in frequency? All other inputs to the first mixer have been checked good. The problem has been isolated (I think) to the crystal oscillator. Thanks in advance.
