I have a Kenwood TS 930S that I just replaced the power supply in. I put
the new K6IOK quint power supply with the newest upgrade board in it and it
comes on perfectly now. BUT.... Upon my first power up it has an " on air "
issue. No mic has been plugged into it, and no the send button is not
pressed I checked that first. No sound comes out of the speaker because
there's no receive because of this problem. I did hook up a mic and pressed
the PTT but no modulation happened like the mic wasn't even attached. What
could be the issue? I hooked up the new supply as instructed and everything
comes on as intended. I can change bands with the buttons on the front, I
can also roll the vfo around but nothing changes as the "on air" light
stays on even when out of regular ham bands. Is this a finals issue or
maybe a crossed wire somewhere? Please help as this radio came from my SK
uncle and it is what I grew up with learning ham radio in the first place
so it means a great deal to me to use this rig as my home base. Thanks
