Kenwood SM-220 w/BS-8 Monitor Scope: The SM-220 station monitor is a multi-function scope that monitors transmit signals. It also includes a tone generator for testing. This one includes the BS-8 pan adapter so that it can be used for monitoring receive signals as well as transmit. It can be used to observe SSB distortion, CW key clicks, and test linearity of amplifiers. It can also be used to tune RTTY and digital signals. This particular unit works fine. It has a very nice bright clear display. Cosmetically, it looks like new. I can not find a defect on it. No scratches, dents, or dings. This one includes a power cable and paper work for $300. . Linear Amp Switching Cables for Kenwood Rigs: This cable goes from a Kenwood transceiver to a linear amplifier to switch the amp from transmit to receive. One end has a DIN connector, as is used with most Kenwood rigs. The other end has an RCA phono plug, as used by most linear amplifiers. Before using this cable, please check the switching capabilities of your transceiver, and the requirements of your amplifier. Cable for switching the T/R relay Only $15. Cable as above, but with ALC line in addition to T/R switching. $20 . Hand Microphone with round 8 pin plug for Kenwood, Alinco, etc. This hand mic works great on most Kenwood rigs with the round 8 pin connector, such as the TS-440, TM-241, TM-2530, TW-4000, and others, including Alinco and ADI. It says "Electret Condenser Mic" on the back, and "Kenwood" on the front, with no model number. Basically, this mic functions like an MC-43, with a couple more features. It has the mic and PTT switch; it also has up/down switches on the top. There are four "extra" buttons labeled Call, VFO, MR, and PF. What these four buttons do depends on the rig. There is also a "Lock" switch on the back. Regardless if you use the four extra buttons or not, you still have a mic that works like an MC-43. This mic works fine, and looks like new. I am guessing it came with a rig, and was immediately put in the drawer, and never used. $30 . All this stuff, since it was done on old analog machines, doesn't meet my current quality standards. Whatever doesn't find new homes will go to recycling to make room for other stuff. I can't get a recently purchased TM241A to turn on (fuse is good). When I opened up the top, I see an in-line connector coming from the front panel, white, with 7 wires inhabiting 10 positions, that does not appear to go to anything. I am guessing this has something to do with the front panel controls but for the life of me I can't see where it is supposed to connect to. There are two open in-line sockets on the circuit board but they do not mate with this connector. No pictures in the operating or service manuals have been of any help (or at least I could not get help from them). Can anyone please point me in the right direction? I could send a photo if needed, I don't think the reflector (if it is like most others) will allow attachments. I know this is now probably something nobody has touched in YEARS.., But I'm adding a ComSpec tone board to a TR-7730 2M rig. The owner's manual has a crude diagram as to where to grab switched 12 volts to power the board....from a small circuit board right behind the PL on/off button. Supposed to be there, but I've probed around and can't find ANY spot where 12 volts is at all on that board....let alone switched with the PL on/off button.
