Does 100 watts on HF, 6m and 2m, and 50 watts on 70cm. Has IF DSP for noise reduction and IF filtering, also has TCXO installed, and CW memory keyer. The internal TNC in this radio doesn't work so you cannot use it for remote control by Sky Command. Also, the radio took a little tumble a couple of months ago and one corner of the bezel got banged up a little, and a couple of the buttons got pushed in a little into the bezel but they still do operate. The noise reduction button is pushed in the furthest and I programmed the PF key to control noise reduction. I am including a hand mic with 4 programmable buttons on it so you can use it to control some of these other functions. The TS2000 has the DRU-3A voice recorder installed, which is a $119 value. It also comes with a power cord, original box, and manual. I am asking $550 for it plus any shipping that is needed. 73 John AF5CC From af5cc2 at gmail.com Thu Jan 4 16:30:09 2018 From: af5cc2 at gmail.com (John Geiger) Date: Thu, 4 Jan 2018 15:30:09 -0600 Subject: [Kenwood] FS: Kenwood TS950S dual receive HF radio Message-ID: I have for sale a Kenwood TS950S HF transceiver. Once Kenwood's top of the line radio. It is rated at 150 watts out (does a little more on most bands) and has 2 receivers for dual receive. It has a built in power supply, an autotuner that will match about anything, and a built in CW keyer. Many other receive functions like Slope Tuning for SSB and Variable Bandwidth Tuning (both AF and IF) for CW. The noise blanker takes out about any type of noise I have seen. It also has the DSP-10 DSP unit installed, and comes with stock filtering-2.4khz filters at the second and third IF. The rig is in excellent operating condition, with 1 issue and good physical condition with a few small circle marks on the top of the case where something else was setting on it. Also the fan cage on the rear of it has a dent in it, but the fan still works fine. It comes with a hand mic, AC power cord, and manual. The operating issue is that sometimes, maybe once a week or so, the power out will drop to zero. You turn the radio off, turn it back on, and it is good to go. Not sure what is causing this This is a great radio and I really enjoy it but am trying to get set up for remote operation and it doesn't seem to be possible with this radio. I am asking $450 for it, plus any shipping-it is heavy. I can take paypal/check/MO. You won't find another radio of this caliber at this price. 73 John AF5CC From af5cc2 at gmail.com Fri Jan 5 13:58:51 2018 From: af5cc2 at gmail.com (John Geiger) Date: Fri, 5 Jan 2018 12:58:51 -0600 Subject: [Kenwood] CW filters for sale Message-ID: I have for sale the following CW filters for the TS950/850/450/690/570 and other Kenwood radios: YK-88c-1 500 hz filter for the 2nd IF $70 YG-455C-1 500hz filter for the 3rd IF $85 YG-455CN-1 270hz filter for the 3rd IF $85 Prices include shipping in the US. The 13 pin DIN plug comes in the accessory package for a TS2000. It has 3 or 4 inch wires coming from each pin, which is much easier than soldering wires to those pins. The pack also had 3 spade fuses and a 1/4" stereo plug with it. The package in unopened and I am asking $15 shipped for them. I also have for sale a cable with the 7 pin DIN on one end and phono plugs on the other for ALC and relay control for an HF amplifier. You could also use the relay jack on it to key a transverter or other accessories. This will only key when on an HF band. I am asking $14 shipped for it. Lastly I have an amplifier cable for the VHF side of the TS2000 and maybe other rigs. It has the 8 pin DIN connector on 1 end, and then 2 cables with phono plugs. 1 is for keying a 6 meter amplifier or accessory and the other is for keying a 2 meter amp or transverter hooked to the 2 meter antenna port. I am asking $15 shipped for it. I can take paypal/check/MO. 73 John AF5CC From holden7471 at msn.com Sat Jan 13 12:12:29 2018 From: holden7471 at msn.com (howard holden) Date: Sat, 13 Jan 2018 17:12:29 +0000 Subject: [Kenwood] Winter 2018 CW Classic Exchange Message-ID: The CW CX will run from 1300 UTC January 21 to 0800 UTC January 22, 2018 (9 AM Eastern Time on Sunday to 3 AM Eastern Time Monday) AND from 1300 UTC January 23, to 0800 UTC January 24, 2018 (9 AM Eastern Time on Tuesday to 3 AM Eastern Time Wednesday) Suggested Frequencies -- plus/minus QRM Listen up and down 5 to 10 Kc for crystal controlled stations CW 1.810 mc. 3.545 mc. 7.045 mc. 14.045 mc. 21.045 mc. 28.045 mc. 50.100 mc. 144.100 mc. The issue I have is the memory battery (BA1) on the digital board was almost dead, so when the radio is turned on the display shows 14.0000 and when installing a battery source of 3volts and holding the A=B button while turning the radio back on the same results: 14.000 and then the digits disappear and UV in cw is sounded from the radio. It was the standard transceiver a few years ago. It is still a good performer, but not spectacular. No DSP! - This one is a tech special. I think the problem is fairly minor. There is no 14 V DC, which means that there is no 5 V DC, since the 5 V is derived from the 14 V. This means that all of the low voltage sections do not function. The higher voltages are all present. It appears that the problem with the 14 V DC is the diode bridge. Likely replacing the diodes will solve the problem. However my eye sight is not good enough to do that, so my loss, your gain. - The cosmetics on the rig are extremely good. So even if you do not repair it, you could use it for parts, or to make one that is cosmetically challenged look nice again. - With power cord for only $75 plus shipping from Florida. - Thanks. 73, Ken Simpson, W8EK Phone (352) 732-8400 .
