I have a Kenwood TMV71A and the cooling fan appears to not be working.  I
wish to get it repaired.  Does anyone have the correct contact info so I can
get this rig back on track.  I use it as a homed base unit and when I do
volunteer work with the MS Bike ride each year.  Thanks!

The cooling van on a V71 should run when the mic is keyed and for a short time after the mic is unkeyed, perhaps a minute or so, I don't recall. If you're sure the fan has failed and not the control circuitry then I suggest you replace it yourself. The fan is available through Pacific Coast Parts for about $28, here's a link <http://www.pacparts.com/model.cfm?model_id=TMV71A&mfg=Kenwood&back=0&action=list_part>. Scroll down to the fan and order the alternate part number shown.

Kenwood AT-250 Automatic HF Antenna Tuner:

The Kenwood AT-250 is much more than an antenna tuner.
It also has a four position antenna switch, plus a peak
reading wattmeter.

The Kenwood AT-250 automatic antenna tuner covers the
HF ham bands from 160 through 10 meters including the
WARC bands. It has an AC power supply built in, or can be
used on 13.8V DC.

The built-in SWR/Power meter indicates peak power on SSB,

This is a "solder in" type filter used on rigs such as the

Fox Tango (Inrad) YF-88H6.0 Crystal Filter
This filter is 6.0 MHz wide, and is normally used for wide,

It is equivalent to a Kenwood YK-88 A. $95

Fox Tango (Inrad) YF-88H2.1 Crystal Filter
This filter is 2.1 KHz wide and is usually used on SSB to
give very sharp skirts. Center frequency is 8830 KHz.

Gap "Hear It" Speaker:

The Gap "Hear It" is a compact speaker with digital
signal processing to reduce or eliminate noise. This
speaker greatly improves signal to noise ratio and
speech clarity. It can be used for AM, FM or SSB
voice signals. This innovative product was developed
in England and is available now in the USA.

A front mounted bi-color LED lets you know when the
speaker is drawing power (red) and when it is processing
(green).

The rear panel features a control used to set the eight
levels of noise cancelling. It also has the DC input jack

Kenwood TSU-6 CTCSS Tone Encoder/Decoder:

Many transceivers, both mobile and HTs, either have
no subaudible CTCSS PL tones in them, or they may
have an encoder only.

If you need both encode and decode, it may be that

The TSU-6 is made to work with the TH-25, TH-45, and
TH-55 series HTs and probably others. It also works
with the TM-231, TM-701, TM-702, TM-721, TM-731 and

Hi-
    I just bought a slightly used TS-570D. CW & SSB work fine. 
    I?d like to hook it up to a SDR receiver (HDSDR RSPplay RSP2 and use it to follow the tuning of the 570D. I expect that the rigs I.F. of 8.83MHZ is close enough to use that signal as the input signal. Before I tear into it I thought maybe someone can shorten my time in finding the I.F. output spot.  I see it on the schematic (between Q14 and Q38, at the output of the AM, CW, SSB filters on the TX-Rx unit) but where will I head side the rig? Top or bottom?
   Also, I?d like to hook it up to do digi modes. Is there an option to connect the Tx audio to the mic jack and receive audio to the 1/8? speaker jack on the rear? Or, maybe in finding one of the accessory jack cables?

I have for sale an amplifier cable for the recent Kenwood Transceivers.
It has the 7 pin DIN plug on 1 end, and phono plugs on the other end for
ALC and relay control.  It looks to be 3 feet long or so.  I am asking $17
shipped for it.

I also have a new 13 pin DIN plug which is used for many Kenwood and Icom
transceivers.  There is no wires on it, just the plug.  Asking $9 shipped.

I also have a new 7 pin DIN plug used for amp cables and other control
functions for Kenwood radios.  Like the 13 pin DIN, it is just the plug,
not wires attached to it.  Asking $9 shipped

I also have a Kenwood 13pin DIN cord I salvaged from a Buxcom Rascal.  It
has the 13 pin DIN on one end, and a 5 pin DIN on the other end.  It is
about 5 feet long.  Asking $8 shipped.
