I have a Kenwood TS2000 and a Kenwood TH-D7AG HT that I am trying to get to
work on Sky Command, but with no luck yet. I have different callsigns for
the transponder (AF5CC-11) and Commander (AF5CC-10). I have both radios on
the same frequencies for both bands, 440.000 and 145.990, no tone-squelch
or repeater splits turned on. They both have the same Sky Command tone
(88.5).
On the TS2000 I have the UHF frequency on the subreceiver, the 2 meter
frequency on the main receiver, and the PTT and CRTL are both on the
subreceiver. Both receivers are squelched. I put the TS2000 into
transponder mode via Menu 62E. The TNC on the TS2000 is set to 1200.
I then put the TH-D7A into Sky Command mode as the Commander. It first
says "Starting TNC" or something like that, and then "PUSH [0] KEY TO START
COMMANDER".
When I push the 0 key I see it send a brief transmission but then it stays
on that screen. It finally beeps after a few seconds, but it never goes
further than that 1 screen.
>From what I can find in the manuals, my setup is correct. Has anyone else
had this trouble? What do I need to do to get Sky Command to work?
BTW I love the TS2000!
