[Kenwood] TS950SD power on function question

On the Kenwood TS950SD which I picked up recently (and which I love!) the
DSP unit is attached, and I notice in the manual there are different things
you can control on the radio by holding down a specific button while you
power it up. Most of these are obvious as to whether the function is
engaged or not.
However, there is a power on function that allows the DSP unit to be
involved in slope tuning as an audio filter, right along with the
traditional slope tuning function for SSB. You hold down the 455 button
while turning the radio on.
Now here is my problem, there doesn't appear to be a way to tell if that
function is off or on. Does anyone know what the default setting is for
this? These functions are found on page 24 of the manual. I did a full
reset of the radio, but the default setting seems to sometimes be the first
one listed-like for the 10hz display resolution and other times it is the
second one listed-like with the Audible mode announcement. So, I have no
idea as to whether the 950, after a full reset, as the DSP audio filter
turned on or off with the slope tuning.
Anyone have an answer to this question?
