[Kenwood] TS-450S questions.

A couple of friends have TS-450S rigs which they like a lot.

I was over to one of those yesterday, and we tried to get his TS-450S to auto-tune his 160 
meter antenna on 160 meters, but the auto-tuning function does not work on 160, although it 
works on all other bands.

We then tried to use the Kenwood procedure in the manual to "manually" load the antenna, 
but THAT function would not work either.

Does anyone know whether 1) the TS-450S's automatic antenna coupler will not work on 
160 meters, or 2) is there a problem with this particular TS-450S, or 3) is there a way to get 
it to work?

We find nothing in the manual that suggests that 160 meters is locked out of the tuning 
procedure, nor did I find anything which mentions this on the web either.

Advice? Suggestions?
