Kenwood SP-820

The Kenwood SP-820 matches the R-820 and TS-820S, and others.
It is the color of most of the TS-520, 530, 820, 830, and other rigs
of that era.

The SP-820 has selectable tone filters to attenuate high and/or
low frequencies. You can select between two audio input sources.
The ¼ inch headphone jack on the front panel is post-filtration.

The SP-820 features a 4.75 inch 8 ohm speaker. Frequency response
is 100 to 5000 Hz. The rear panel has three RCA phono jacks for
Inputs A and B and Line Output. It is 6.25 x 6 x 13.4 inches.

This particular speaker works fine, and looks extremely nice -
very close to new. It includes the "riser feet" on the front.

Paper work is included for $85.


Kenwood SP-430

The Kenwood SP-430 external 8 ohm speaker provides low-distortion,
clear sound and high intelligibility in any mode. It is made in an all
metal cabinet, and matches the TS-430S, TS-440S, TS-450, TS-711A,
and others. The rear panel has a two screw terminal strip.
There is a snap-out riser bar that will raise the front to match
the slant of the rig. It is 5 x 4 x 9.5 inches.

This one works fine and looks good, but there is a smudge on the
top, not visible from the front.

With paper work for $60.



Other communications speakers:


Radio Shack 21-541 Powered Communications Speaker:

This speaker is a bit unique. It is a communications speaker,
but it is also powered, much like computer speakers.

Specs say the frequency response is 300 to 3000 Hz, which is
ideal for communications. It is rated to have 8 watts output,
which means you could hear it in over most any noisy environment,
such as high noise mobile installations. It needs 13 V DC at up
to 1.5 amps, although current is very low if the volume is low.

This unit has a nice gimble mounting bracket, making it great for
mobile use.

This unit works fine and looks close to new. It even includes a
single page of paper work, as if that is needed. Only $22


Motorola Typ NR GSN 6010 A:

I think the NR in the model means "Noise Reduction".
This black speaker is about 5 inches square and 3 inches deep,
designed for communications frequencies.  It has a long cord
terminated in a 3.5 mm (1/8 inch) mono plug.  $20

Realistic 21-549 A:
This speaker is about 4 inches square and about 2 inches deep. It
is rated for 5 watts, has an 8 ohm impedance, and is listed as a 300
to 3000 Hz frequency response, making it ideal for communications.
It has a 3.5 mm (1/8 inch) mono plug, as used by most modern rigs.
It is black in color, looks great, and sounds great. $12

Vanco SPB-6:
Similar to Realistic 21-549 above, but is considered a noise
cancelling speaker.
10 Watt rating. Still in original box, new. $18
