For used gear in general, I usually start at half the new price and
maybe negotiate up a bit from there depending on how much I want it.
Ebay has thrown a bit of a rock into that plan, though... say what
you will about ebay but they do sort of define the market to some
degree. So, a good start, as John said, would be to investigate
previous "sold" prices on ebay.
