Thanks for the help "Pg 95 of the owners manual outlines the connections for ACC2 and also gives the menu items that need to be changed/adjusted. The pinouts are the same for the 570 and 2000 so it should work if the menus are set up correctly." How(if) to tell which? 2. I don't see any way to connect for CAT to read/set frequency/mode etc. Is it possible? This radio was given to a new ham and I am trying to get her set up for digital because she is in an apartment with restrictions but may be able to get something going on low power digital. I have the cable for the mic connector ordered from Tigertronics to connect the SignaLink USB and fully expect it will work just fine but it sure would be nice to have the capability to read the freq/mode into the logging program. It will handle up to 2000 Watts of power, but only requires about 30 watts (depending on band) to get an accurate reading. It has 2000 W and 200 W scales. It features two meters -- one reads power and one reads SWR. The meters are fairly large 3 inch meters. This meter works 100%. Paper work is included for $75. Linear Amp Switching Cable for Kenwood Rigs: This cable goes from a Kenwood transceiver to a linear amplifier to switch the amp from transmit to receive. One end has a DIN connector, as is used with most Kenwood rigs. The other end has an RCA phono plug, as used by most linear amplifiers. Before using this cable, please check the switching capabilities of your transceiver, and the requirements of your amplifier. This cable is for switching the relay. $15 DC Power Cable This is the heavy duty power cable as used on most of the Kenwood HF rigs, plus also many Icom, Alinco, and others. It has the 6 pin molex connector, with four pins used - two for plus and two for ground. The cable may not have ever been used. It looks good, and of course works fine. $22 Kenwood YK-88 S 1 Crystal Filter: This filter is 2400 Hz wide, and is the type that plugs in (as opposed to the solder in type), and is used on rigs such as the TS-450, TS-850, TS-940, TS-950, and others. The display does have some lines in it (common for this model) but it is perfectly readable. Also, the volume knobs (one for each band) are missing, but I just hooked a pair of alligator clips to the shafts and that works fine. The rings for squelch are there. I actually bought and installed one of these kits (for my TS-820) new in the late 1970s. Besides a few simple installation instruction sentences, there's little there (no schematics, and the IC that's on the small board had the markings removed). I suspect someone MAY have taken one of these boards (originally intended for a TS-820) and installed it in your TS-430 instead; I don't recall ever seeing such a kit advertised for the '430, which came out quite a bit later than the '820. Magicom also sold a kit that supposedly improved the receiver front end of the TS-820; I also have instructions for that. I don't recall either mod kit making a significant improvement in the TS-820's performance. I also don't remember seeing Magicom ads for kits for any radios other than the TS-820. Let me know if you can use a copy of what I have. 73, Herman, N4CH. In a message dated 11/28/2015 11:24:37 A.M.
