Both are very late serial numbers and have had all the mods factory installed (s/n 440238 and 440297). One is in the sealed box (never opened) from the factory. The second has been lightly and lovingly been used in my non-smoking environment. Both come with TCXO (one installed, the other in a box). I have over $2,800 invested and am looking for offers prior to placing them on eBay. But , maybe it is a stupid question, don't know if the spec is for peak volt or rms volt. There is a 1,41 factor, I think it's important. I could not find it in the manual. Any help truly appreciated. Message-ID: <02e701d06646$ffceef40$ff6ccdc0$@net> Hi all. I have two problems with my TS8850S. First item is the AGC time constant is permanently in fast mode. Switching to Mid or Slow does not change the time constant. Switching it off does turn it off. I'm hoping a loose plug on an PC board somewhere. I have schematics but have not been able to locate the time constant switching circuitry. Any suggestions? Second problem is the Antenna tuner. It works, but when the motor drives the caps CW (as viewed from the front) there is a momentary but very loud screech (best way I can describe it). When the motors drive the caps CCW, there is little or no noise. Any suggestions on this one? Bad bearings in the motors or such? Any help greatly appreciated. 73, Bob W5XR
