[Kenwood] TS-430S AM Band Sensitivity

OK,

I will be installing the pass band filter cleaner mod.
Bought this rig used and it has been since the day I got it ohhh 5 years 
ago dead on receive between 4.000MHz and 6.500 MHz
You hear the relays click as you tune across those frequencies and 
depending on what way you're tuning either the receiver comes to life or 
goes dead.

OK not a problem.. I hope..

Now for another deaf thing.  Here I'm thinking something else?

I do not hear any relays clicking or anything happening, And even the 
owners manual says it is a LOT less sensitive in the AM Broadcast band,

I know the reasoning is to lessen overload from nearby AM stations.  But 
I do not live near any strong AM Stations.

The closest to me is WRDB In Reedsburg Wisconsin. It is 20 Miles from 
me, and it runs only 1 KW of power. So having it overload me is not too 
much of a worry. Even right now un modded if I tune directly to their 
frequency 1400 KHz they are only S-7

So, the question is,,

Is there a Mod that can be done to bring full sensitivity that this rig 
has back to the band between 1600 KHz and 500KHz?

Right now at 500 KHz you can hear the background hisssss go from nothing 
to a S-5 as you cross over.

At 1600KHz a station is there at S-9 to 10 Over yes at 1600.00 S-9 to 10 
Over
But drop to 1599.99 it is still audible (barely) and S-0

I'm an old AM broadcast band DXer, got my start in Radio doing that 
decades ago. and still like to do it.

Is there a mod to bring this back to life?
