Ok,
I did a basic alignment this afternoon on my TS-430S.
Old age and all that. but was very simple three trimmer caps.
I knew the pair that control how the IF passband is balanced was off.
USB and LSB had very different background hiss sounds one was all bassy
and the other hissy.
and the narrow SSB filter was useless unless you adjusted the if shift
control way over. but now nice and balanced no difference between USB
and LSB even with the narrow filter.. It's nice to be able to use that
ya know?
Now I knew I was always off a little on freq, and I found how to adjust
it. at least a video about it. here,,
http://youtu.be/U56M9Bm-QL0
at a little past the 1 hour and 11 minute point.
and I did it and it was easy and WWV was awesome on all freqs except 2.5
today. so I did that adjustment it indeed was still a little off. I made
it exatly the same. and even checked on all of them 5, 10, 15, 20 & 25
Mhz no difference at all,
So closed the rig back up and still the same.
Now I went on 30 meters and threw out a CQ, the dial reading, at 10.115
But all the stations that heard me on the RBN showed me as baing on
10.114.7 It all says i'm 300 hz low.
What do I do?
