When connecting the various colored wires to a new rj45 connector , does the
non insulated wire get connected also or is it left off.  From what I see
the color coded insulated wires are placed in the connector in this order:
pin 8 Blue, 7 nc, 6 white, 5 black, 4 green, 3 yellow, 2 brown, 1 red.  

 

Also, does the end of the insulated wires have to be stripped before putting
in the rj45 plug?
