Looking at the subminiature filament lamps available from Circuitron
you could try the 12v, cat no. 800-7431-02 which is 2.4mm diameter, with
8inch leads and described as "extremely bright", (0.5w) they might be
bright enough for the Kenwood 940 LCD backlight when run at 9v, it would
be worth a trial. I wish Circuitron had a store over here to enable a
quick experiment using a variable psu.....
