[Kenwood] TS-850 Audible Whine

Hello, 
I have a 15+ year old TS-850 that still works well, but about 3 months ago, when 
I key the rig, whether or not it is transmitting any power whatsoever, and even 
when the ant. tuner is in action, I get an audible whirring sound from the back 
of the unit.  Happens on all band positions and modes.  I have asked about my 
signal quality and get good reports, and full output.  


Could this be the fan inside the unit making that noise, or something more 
sinister going on?
