The TS-940 already has a 2nd VFO built in. It doesn't have a socket
for another one, and it cannot accept one either. The outboard VFO U
mention is for an older transceiver (such as the TS-530 or
TS-830......these have one analog VFO and a counter display built-in
already) that can benefit from such a 2nd VFO. Older technology rigs
such as the TS-120, 130, 180, then the TS-530 and TS-830 which used
internal free-running analog VFOs with counters (and could operate
split by adding an external VFO such as the VFO-230 and VFO-240) made
way for the synthesized-VFO rigs including the TS-430, 440,
940...........and everything since..........thru the current high-end
TS-990, NONE of which can accept (or need, for split operation) an
external VFO.

Subject: [Kenwood] VFO-240

I can't seem to find the answer to this question on the web.

Is the VFO-240 compatible with the TS-940S?
