[Kenwood] TS940 potential problems

Being a serious contester, and having owned a TS-820,830,930,940,950SDX 
and now 590S, I will say that the TS-940 is my least favorite radio (I 
still have the 830, 930 and a pair of 590's, so that tells you 
something). It suffered from a serious design defect that caused it to 
generate spurious signals +-2 kHz from the carrier frequency. There were 
several service bulletins on this matter, none of which were effective 
in solving the problem. For a number of years back in the 80's and 90's, 
it was very easy to spot those who were using TS-940's in a CW contest. 
Eventually, all serious contesters sold their 940's, and this major 
source of unnecessary QRM disappeared.
