I've never paid any attention to it.  It is probably a mix.

I can only tell you that since about '84 when I picked it up from HRO on 
consignment, that the only marks are on the manual.

The front panel shows NO wear or scratches.  Then again, I've been an 
old Boatanchor type and I maintain all my own gear.  That would include 
a '51 contract SP-600, and a BC-610.

Everything here looks just like it did when it came out.

I *CAN'T* say the same for a TS-820s with external VFO.  I wouldn't even 
sell them to another ham!  I'll send them to Hazardous Waste when I 
decide to get them off the shelf. <GRIN>
