You could send the meter to Eldad Benary at the sound company in NYC
He is excellent repairing meters, prompt and VERY reasonable. Other than 
shipping doesn't cost to have him look at it
He repaired a tube tester meter for me for a mere fraction of anyone else 
price and it was two week total time out to returned to me
