[Kenwood] TS-450S problem

I have acquired a TS-450S which works fine in all modes after going through
calibration as per the service manual, except in SSB. The power output in
both LSB - USB with mike is very low and the item 13 in
transmitter section adjustment (CAR point) shows worse than the NG figure.
I suspect IC15 (MIC AMP ALC) coul be the culprit.
Has anybody had experience with a similar case? Any hint?
