I use a short piece of #10 wire from the battery to two (one each, positive,
negative) 60 amps self-resetting circuit breakers (automotive, with mounting
tabs) then more #10 wire to the mounting location.  There the power is
divided to the pairs of power leads (through appropriate fuses) to the
480HX.  The RF deck is also bonded (grounded) to the chassis (1" wide
battery strap cable) at the mounting site (removed ALL the 75 meter phone
hash on TX).

Note that BOTH power leads make the run to the battery.  The circuit
breakers protect the wiring, while the fuses protect the radio.  While the
run is only 15 feet, I would not go any smaller than #10.  It was a
compromise based on availability (#8 rolls were long and very expensive).

I have been using the old 100 watt setup and just split it to the two
inputs. But I want to upgrade that a bit and curious what others are doing.
