[Kenwood] Kenwood Speakers

I wonder if anyone has any experience or thoughts about the older Kenwood 
speakers such as the SP-940 et al.  These speakers are obviously getting old 
now, and just as caps dry out and go bad, speaker cones dry out, crack and 
go bad. I'm wondering how these old Kenwood speakers are holding up.

Unlike a stereo speaker that can often be replaced or re-coned, I am 
thinking that a communications speaker might be a bit more challenging.
