[Kenwood] TS-450 Tuner quit

Recently purchased a TS-450 that was working fine.  The tuner quit working, but
rig continued to work.

In checking the internals, I found on the Filter Board next to antenna connector the
following:
                    D11 is dark and appears zapped.  Protection diode?

                    K15 is charred on the side next to D11.
Are these two required for the tuner to operate?  Or, is this possibly a seperate issue from
the tuner.

Also, assuming the tuner is not fixable, has anyone used the LDG KT-100 as a true
auto-tune?
