Thank you that's VERY useful to know. In which case I'll forget the idea and 
will look for a real YK-88C-1.

I can imagine if one has filters in both the 2nd and 3rd IFs and one is offset 
by 700 Hz and the other is not, one would effectively have a dead receiver.

I might as well get a YK-88C-1, though to be honest, they are selling for little 
less than the cost of a new Inrad filter, which has a much better shape factor. 
Rather than pay $100 for a used Kenwood filter, I might as well pay an extra $30 
and get a new one from Inrad with a better shape factor and a warranty.
