[Kenwood] Tuning rate too fast on TS-940S

Subject: [Kenwood] Tuning rate too fast on TS-940S

I have a couple of TS-940S rigs. One (the older one) tunes far too quickly.
I've seen another chip is available on the internet which solves this and
has other features, but is there any way of just solving this, without
spending $50 on a new chip?

	I am reasonably sure there is a mod to change the tuning rate, I
have a bunch of old sheets of mods and bulletins stored away, they were from
Kenwood and another outfit that published for, Kenwood,Yaesu and Icom.
I will get one of daughters to try to dig them out and if I find them I will
let you know, no promises though.
I can't look for them myself as I am badly handicapped.
