DDS is Direct Digital Synthesis..A technique using aspecial chips located on 
the Carrier Board to generate the RF signals in the radio..The chips are 
preprogrammed to produce precise signals and work in conjunction with the 
VCO's(Voltage Controlled Oscillators to produce the LO(Local Oscillator 
signals).
