[Kenwood] DIGITAL FREQUENCY COUNTER

For the group. I am electronically challenged and do not have much knowledge in this area. In looking thru some boxes I found a DFD3 (Digital Frequency Display Universal Frequency Counter) and would like to use it with my SX- 62A and SX- 111. The instructions indicate it should be connected to the VFO connection on the back of the receiver. Neither the 62 or 111 has this connection. I also admit that I do know a VFO from a UFO. Can anyone give me some guidance on how to connect this device to  either/both of my radios.
I appreciate any help I can get.
