[Kenwood] TS-520 & VFO-520

One thing I did was to get an old 9 pin tube and break off the glass envelope and connect wires to the pins.  Then I took a 9 pin tube socket, and soldered the wires into the socket from the side the tube plugs in.  If you use a pair of needle nose and pinch the pins of the socket, they will usually form well enough to make a snug enough fit into the VFO socket to work.
