[Kenwood] TS-530S Bandswitch

  Dennis,
You need to check the coupler on the Band switch shaft between the front 
and rear sections. It sounds like yours has cracked and now is loose.
The white plastic couplers crack with age. Best fix is to replace it 
with a brass one.
It's a common problem on these old Kenwood Hybrids
